How Much? The Enniscrone Walking Festival, Ireland

Now to the beautiful walking country of Ireland and to the Enniscrone Walking Festival held on the 14/09.

A two day event on the West coast of Ireland, there are 5 walks to choose from and every evening the Walking festival extends into the local pubs to discuss the walks of the day - it says around the hearth but not in today's weather.

The accommodation we are using is The Seasons Lodge in Enniscrone for 2 nights.

The Itinerary::-

Friday 13th September

Check in to the Seasons Lodge.

A short walk, of about 5k, around the town of Enniscrone on Friday evening, to get you acquainted with our local heritage and landmarks. This area was inhabited  least 5,000 years ago, and evidence of our ancient ancestors is widespread. There are many legends told of the area includ- ing the rampage of the Black Pig and a long established tradition of seaweed baths. With a long sand beach and towering sand dunes there are great views out over Killala Bay.

Before descending one can look down upon The Gap and the beautiful Lough Talt. Hiking boots, gaiters, rain gear, snacks and liquid refreshments: essential.
