We have headed North to Scotland and to Blairgowrie to the annual walking festival. Using walking festivals uk website and the local bed and Breakfast we chose we have come up with a strenuous walking itinerary with a bit of luxury at the end of the day.
Thursday 12th September
Check into B&B - Old Stables 4 star
Friday 13th September
Linn of Dee to Glenmore via Lairig Ghru
This walk has no spare spaces but we are collating a reserve list! Any booked spaces not paid for by 20th August will be offered to those on the reserve list.
Distance: 27km/17miles, 870m ascent.
Start: Mini-bus leaves Blairgowrie Wellmeadow 07:30.
Finish: Glenmore Lodge for a meal app 18:00. Bus leaves for Blairgowrie afterwards (returning app 22:00).
Limit: Maximum 11, minimum 8.
Notes: Extremely Strenuous (see Walk Grading). Hillwalking gear essential. Several packed lunches and snacks required.
Saturday 14th September
Spittal of Glenshee to Kirkmichael (Cateran Trail)
Distance: 15km/10 miles. Ascent 440m.
Start: Mini-bus leaves Blairgowrie Wellmeadow at 10:15
Finish: Strathardle Inn at 16:50. Bus leaves for Blairgowrie at 17:30
Spaces: Maximum 12, minimum 7.
Notes: Moderate (see Walk Grading). Hillwalking gear advised. Packed lunch required.
Sunday 15th September
Killiecrankie - Moulin
Distance: 10km/6 miles. 670m ascent.
Start: Mini-bus leaves Blairgowrie Wellmeadow at 09:00.
Finish: Moulin Hotel for refreshments at 14:15. Bus leaves for Blairgowrie at 15:00.
Spaces: Maximum 12, minimum 7.

The total cost for 2 people for this 4 night 3 day hard walking(my kind of walking) would be :-
B&B - £275
Walks -Fridays - £37 Saturdays- £12 Sundays - £30 X 2 = £158
Total = £433
Conclusion:-
This is a great walking festival with some real mountainous walks. The walks as you can see are full day events and that is why they cost slightly more than the average walking festival.
We have also added a night at the beginning and at the end of the festival, you will probably need it.
But for £217 per person for 4 nights bed and breakfast accommodation and these great walks you cannot go wrong.
