Hawick Walking Festival - How Much??

The Hawick walking weekend near the Scottish/English border is almost upon us - commencing on the 17/08 but how much does it cost to attend this fabulous event?

We have made an itinerary for 3 nights and 3 days of guided walking , there is also a Hootenannie and Ceilidh on Sunday evening (18th) in conjunction with Hawick’s Summer festival, thrown in, all cheer!!

The accommodation we have chosen is in Hawick and its the North Bridge Bed & Breakfast. A great looking place.

Friday the 16/08

Explore Hawick

Saturday 17/08

After a hearty breakfast

Jedburgh to Denholm via Ruberslaw
From Jedburgh’s historic Abbey, we follow the Borders Abbey Way past Jedburgh Castle Jail. We walk beside Black Law before descending to Bedrule and then heading towards Spittal Tower. At this point we leave the Way to ascend Ruberslaw. Our descent to Denholm takes us via Black Dod.

Sunday 18/08

After another hearty breakfast

Ogilvie Cairn
From the Centre we proceed through Wilton Dean, Whitehaugh, and the ‘Forty Fits’ onto open moorland. We then pick up a drove road to arrive at the Ogilvie Cairn.Our return takes us past Woo Law, Rotten Moss and Wilton burn.

Level: Long

Sunday Evening - the Hootenannie and Ceilidh

Monday 19/08

Final hearty breakfast 
Check out of North Bridge B&B

Stobs Camp
Leaving the Centre we walk through Hawick’s West End past the Golf Course and through Duke’s Wood to Williestruther and Acre Knowe Lochs.
We continue to the old Army Camp at Stobs before returning via Barns Loch and Hawick Moor.

Distance: 11 miles
Ascent: 1000ft
Level: Moderate/Long

How Much? 
For 2 people:-
Accommodation 3 nights bed and breakfast for 2 people = £210 
Walks = £30 

Total = £240

For 1 Person:-
Accommodation 2 nights bed and breakfast for 1 person = £105 
Walks =£15 

Total = £120


Conclusion:-

An excellent looking programme, that has 7 walks to choose from, to suit everyone's ability. 
The price at £40 a day for bed and breakfast and a guided walk, oh and a Hootenannie and Ceilidh thrown in - GET YOURSELF THERE!!
