The Burren Peaks Walking Festival - How Much??

Off to the west coast of Ireland for the Burren Peaks Walking Festival. Based in Ballyvaughan just south of Galway.


A walking festival with three grades of walking - 'A','B' and 'C' to choose from. There are 10 walks to choose from over 2 days, Saturday the 28th of September and Sunday the 29th of September.

We have chosen the Cappabhaile Bed and Breakfast for a 2 night stay.

The Itinerary.

Day 1 Friday 27th

Wild Burren Eastern Peaks Grade A walk:

This is a strenuous Grade A walk for very experienced walkers taking in several peaks across the Burren. Starting from Abbey Hill, via Turlough mountain, The Seven Churches, Oughtmama Valley, Moneen & Aillwee peaks. This is a challenging route across rough, rugged limestone terrain with ascents over 1000 ft for the very experienced walker. Registration at 8 am at Base - Bus Depart at 8.30 am Walk starts at 9 am. - Walk Time minimum 8hrs + Pre-Booking of walk essential before Sept 22nd Limited places available on all walks.

Retreat to local pub for food and music.

Day 3 Sunday 29th

Wild Burren Western Peaks Grade A walk:

This is a strenuous Grade A walk for very experienced walkers taking in several peaks across the Burren. Starting from Fanore, via Slieve Elva mountain, North Clare's highest peak, Black Head & Gleninagh peaks, Feenagh Valley onto Cappanawalla. This is a challenging route across rough, rugged limestone terrain with ascents over 1100 ft for the very experienced walker. Registration at 8 am at Base - Bus Depart at 8.30 am Walk starts at 9 am. - Walk Time minimum 8hrs + Pre-Booking of walk essential before Sept 22nd. Limited places available on all walks.

On to Galway for transport or drive home.

How Much??

For 2 people:-
Accommodation with breakfast = 156 Euro for 2nights
Walks = 80 Euro
Total = 236 Euro for two people

Conclusion

A walking festival in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland. The long walks chosen here are a personal preference but there are lots more to choose from. A great looking walking festival with free music in the bars on every night.

At 118 euro per person for two full days out and two nights bed and breakfast its a great looking walking get away for a long weekend.
